Old phoenix by Spyrre Old phoenix by Spyrre
An old phoenix... Its feathers have lost their colour, only some remains on tips of its wings.

Yeah, I liked the sketch I did earlier, so when I wanted to scribble something with pastels I just used it. No backround, because I didn´t know what to draw in there, the only motive for this picture was that I wanted to draw the bird.

Done mostly with charcoal and pastels, and a little bit of coloured pencils. I don´t know why the texture of the paper shows up so sharply in the picture, couldn´t help it without blurring up the drawing itself. Annoying.

EDIT:
I remade this drawing with the help of my coloured pencils. See the finished version here: [link]

Impressive picture! I really like the texture and the way you did the feathers.

Your phoenix is so cool...I like that you made him old and weathered. Most depictions of birds like that are young, handsome, and with full plumage. But older animals have thier grace and knowledge and a beauty all thier own. Kuds to you! Instant :+fav:!

I love how you draw claws and it´s head shows some caracteristics of a benevolent and wild spirit that is above hate and pain, very good

I think the texture works well here -- it adds to the piece. The feathers could have done with fewer strokes, as they look a bit furry rather than feathery, but overall lovely work!

I think it looks stunning! I love the details on the feathers and the eye, it seems really old and proud. It marches to my favorites at once
